A new design collaboration in Master Oak
Discover the Rolled Lounger by Phil Procter, now brought to life in Master Oak natural copper and Master Oak green.
Phil Procter is known for turning sheet material into sculptural furniture. For this collaboration, his Rolled Lounger was translated from stainless steel into Master Oak. The result is a piece that brings together warm natural expression, precise detailing and the freedom to shape more complex forms.

Phil Procter is a UK designer whose studio is based in Rotterdam. He is known for his work in the hospitality and retail sector, including custom projects for well-known places in Ghent such as Bar Bassie and Café 't Kanon. He has also designed for HAY and recently developed an ingenious system for the Rotterdam Library.
His work explores how flat materials can be shaped into furniture and objects that feel both bold and refined. The Rolled Lounger is a strong example of that approach.
Phil Procter for Unilin Master Oak
We chose to collaborate with Phil Procter because of his contemporary and sculptural design language. His work combines strong form with a clear architectural influence, drawing inspiration from brutalism and from designers such as Frank Lloyd Wright. That made him a natural fit for Master Oak.
The Rolled Lounger was originally created in stainless steel. In Master Oak, the design takes on a different feel: warmer, softer and more tactile.
For this collaboration, the chair was developed in two finishes: Master Oak natural copper and Master Oak green. Together, they show how one design can take on different moods through material and colour.
Phil felt like a very natural choice for this collaboration because his work combines architectural clarity with warmth and material expression in a way that fits Master Oak perfectly.”
Master Oak combines the warm look and feel of oak with the performance needed for everyday use.
Its precise processing and bendability make it a strong fit for sculptural furniture design,
while its scratch and stain resistance, colour stability and durability help it perform beautifully over time.
Curious what makes Unilin Master Oak so special? the curve, the grain, the finish and the feel of real wood.
Master Oak brings the warmth and character of oak into contemporary interiors, while offering the consistency and durability today’s projects need. This collaboration with Phil Procter shows how natural expression and design freedom can come together in one material.
Unilin Master Oak is the perfect material to apply wood grain to curved, sweeping surfaces,” says Procter. “It allows you to achieve a level of precision and consistency that is essential when working with these kinds of forms, while also adding a completely different sensory quality to the piece.”
